Mary Ann LaFalce Dickman

After graduation in 1964, I worked that summer as a secretary at Perlmutter furniture for about a year and then I went to an insurance company for about a year. Then I decided to apply at IBM and I worked from 1966 to about 1992 and before I took an early retirement, I worked as executive secretary to one of the VPs at IBM.

in the meantime, in 1976, I married Jeff Dickman. He and I moved to Boca Raton, Florida, where I continue to work with IBM and he was working in construction.around 1985 we separated and never divorced. We went our separate ways. I came into a relationship with the Lord and I felt that I was supposed to believe for my husband to come back which I did. And then two children later he came back and we've been living together since 1998 I believe. His children became my children. I love them more than anything, as if they were my own. They are my own.

3 years ago we moved from Florida to North Carolina. We live just outside of Asheville in a town called Weaverville, here in the mountains. My daughter, Virginia, goes to college in Asheville, North Carolina, majoring in social services. My son lives in Port St Lucie, Florida with his fiance and 5 children. They are planning to marry in April 2015.

My husband did some real estate in Florida before we moved to NC and for the time being, he is doing some home remodeling.

we love the mountains of North Carolina. But we miss our grandchildren. So we are back and forth quite a bit, between here in Florida.

When I was in drivers ed, Mr Dugan had to step on the break on his side of the car as I was crossing over a major highway without stopping at a stop sign. He scared the daylights out of me but I probably scared the daylights out of him.
